Man falls off roof during routine inspection

On Behalf of | May 5, 2019 | Serious Injuries |

Many people in Ohio have jobs that require them to work in environments or situations that may be risky. This makes it essential that the right safety procedures and protocols are in place and that those procedures and protocols are consistently and properly adhered to. It is also important for people and their family members to know what steps to take in the event that the right actions are not followed and a serious injury results.

Today, the family members of a man who worked as a property manager may well be in need of learning how to get help after the man was involved in a serious accident at work. The man was the property manager at the Ohio Valley Mall in Belmont County. As part of his duties, he was performing some regular maintenance inspection and needed to be on the roof of the building. The roof is about eight feet above ground.

Somehow, the man fell from the roof to the ground, hitting his head on a heating and air condition unit in the process. The nature of his head injury required that he be taken by helicopter to a hospital for treatment. It is not known how the man fell and if there were any other workers on the roof with him at the time of the accident.

It will no doubt be important for the people following up on the incident to review what safety procedures were in place and were or were not followed before the man’s fall.
