Hit-and-run crash sends two to trauma center

| May 4, 2018 | Car Accidents |

Being hit by a reckless driver is certainly one of the last things people in Ohio ever expect or want to happen to them when they set out on their days. Being hit by a reckless driver who fails to even stop after causing an accident can only make matters worse. In some cases, people are fortunate that such errant drivers are eventually located by law enforcement officers so that some attempt at holding them accountable for their actions may remain.

Such is the case of an incident that occurred shortly before 6:00 in the morning recently along a stretch of State Route 57, also referred to as Wadsworth Road. Reports indicate that a male driver who is 23 years old chose to illegally pass another vehicle. His actions set off a string of events that left two women in separate vehicles injured and requiring air transport to local trauma centers.

The man passed one of the women’s cars on a hill and a part of the road marked with a double yellow line, indicating no passing should take place there. A woman in an oncoming car swerved to avoid hitting the man’s truck head-on and in her attempt to get back on the road, collided with the first woman’s car. The man apparently left the scene but was found roughly seven hours later and has been charged with aggravated vehicular assault.

People who have been involved in hit-and-run accidents in Missouri might be able to find out how to seek compensation by talking with a lawyer.
